This year, we will be supporting

Women’s Literacy Education and Economic Development in Rwanda

Poverty, illiteracy, and gender imbalance are the major problems that can be found among women in Rwanda. Those who rely solely on their husbands or traditional farming find their family struggling to meet their daily needs. When women are given the skills and support to grow, they have an increased sense of self-worth and the wellbeing of their families improves. By empowering women to grow holistically the mindsets of poverty, ignorance, and gender discrimination are addressed. Women who are literate, and who have had access to vocational skills training are not only empowered to help contribute to their own family’s needs, but also contribute to the development of the communities in which they live and their churches.
